Hi @FJUC
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with printing in color, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here’s a quick troubleshooting guide to help fix the issue:
1. Check Printer Settings
- Ensure Color Printing is Enabled: Sometimes, printing settings can default to black and white or grayscale.
- Open the Print Dialog on your Mac (when printing from any application).
- Click Show Details to expand the print settings.
- Make sure Color or Color Mode is set to Color and not Grayscale or Black & White.
2. Update Printer Drivers
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Options & Supplies.
- Check for any available updates under Driver. You can also download the latest drivers from HP’s website.
3. Check Ink Levels
- Sometimes, low ink in one or more color cartridges can prevent color printing.
- Open the HP Smart app or go to the printer's control panel to check ink levels.
- Replace any empty or low cartridges.
4. Reset the Printer
- Power off the printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
- Sometimes, a reset can resolve odd printing issues.
5. Clear Print Queue
- Sometimes, print jobs in the queue can cause issues.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue. Cancel any pending jobs.
6. Test with Another Application
- Try printing a color document from a different app, like Preview or Safari, to see if the issue persists.
7. Printer Firmware Update
- Check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or HP’s website. Firmware updates can fix bugs or compatibility issues.click here
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
