Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer

I purchased a bunch of in cartridges for my 8720 for a big project that never happened.   I've been using these cartridges with out issue.  Suddenly, the printer states they are not compatible with my printer and the printer won't function. HP Support states I must purchase new ink. How dare HP force me to purchase new ink when what I have is fine!  Why would they program these units to behave this way? I wasted a lot of money on the ink. 

I will not purchase more ink. I will not purchase a new HP printer or any other HP product.
