I just changed my Black HP62 genuine cartridge and it won't communicate with the printer. Old one communicates fine. Tried another new cartridge and it works fine. Is there a way to replace faulty cartridges as these are expensive to purchase?

Hi @funkyfido,
Thank you for your reply
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue lies with a single faulty cartridge, here are steps you can take to resolve the problem or request a replacement:
Steps to Resolve the Issue
Verify the Cartridge is Genuine:
- Check for the HP holographic label on the cartridge packaging to ensure it’s an authentic HP product.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and remove the faulty cartridge.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the copper contacts on the cartridge.
- Let it dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
Inspect for Protective Film:
- Ensure the protective tape or film covering the cartridge's ink nozzles has been removed.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in.
- Reinsert the cartridge and check if the issue persists.
Try the Faulty Cartridge Again:
- Sometimes reseating the cartridge firmly can help establish a proper connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
