Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdn

IMG_20240830_144027.jpg

The first printing of the printer Color Laser Jet Pro MFP is very bad, I was printing B/w and the printed Ink is spreaded badly on the paper. It looks like the image was rolled in a roller bar damaging the image.

But after four to five trial, it will normalize the print out.

What is the issue?

Hi @Giovanni_BS,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn might be experiencing a few potential issues.

  • Toner Cartridge Problems: The toner cartridges might not be seated properly, or they might be defective. Try removing and reinstalling the cartridges to ensure they are correctly positioned. You can also check for any visible damage to the cartridges.
  • Drum Issues: The imaging drum might be dirty or worn out. The drum transfers toner onto the paper, so if it’s dirty or damaged, it could cause issues with the print quality. Check the drum for any visible issues or residue and clean or replace it if necessary.
  • Fuser Unit Issues: The fuser unit heats up to fuse the toner to the paper. If it’s not working correctly, it can cause poor print quality. If the fuser unit is defective or needs cleaning, it might produce bad prints until it warms up properly.
  • Paper Issues: Ensure you are using the correct type of paper for your printer and that it’s loaded correctly. Paper with too much moisture or dust can also cause print quality issues.
  • Printer Settings: Check the print settings in the printer driver software. Make sure they match the type of document you’re printing and that the printer settings are optimized for the paper and toner you are using.
  • Firmware Issues: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause print quality problems. Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer and install it if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
