I purchased a newer HP Printer and gave my old printer to my daughter. I disconnected that printer from my HPINK account. There is still HPInk in the printer and I have given her one other cartridge that came for it.

She cannot use the printer because she doesn't have a HPINK account?

What can I do for her?

Hi @KathrinT,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your daughter is unable to use the printer because it is still associated with your HP Instant Ink account, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Remove the Printer from Your HP Instant Ink Account:

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account on the HP website.
  • Locate the printer that you gave to your daughter and remove it from your account.

Reset the Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the settings or setup menu.
  • Look for an option to reset the printer to factory defaults.
  • Perform the reset, and this should clear any previous account information.

Set Up a New HP Instant Ink Account:

  • If your daughter wants to use HP Instant Ink, she can set up her own account on the HP website.
  • During the setup process, she will need to register the printer with her account.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
