HI @Seymourme,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems you're encountering an error message on your printer indicating that the cartridges are not communicating correctly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure that the cartridges are properly installed in their respective slots. Remove them and reseat them firmly into place. Ensure that you're using genuine HP cartridges compatible with your printer model.

Inspect Cartridge Contacts: Check the copper-colored contacts on both the cartridges and the printer. Ensure that they are clean and free from any dirt or debris. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to gently wipe the contacts if necessary. Be careful not to touch the nozzles or contacts with your fingers.

Reset Printer: Turn off your printer, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve communication errors.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or by downloading and installing it from the HP website. Updated firmware may resolve compatibility issues with cartridges.

Try Another Cartridge: If possible, try inserting a different cartridge into the printer to see if the error persists. This can help determine if the issue is with the cartridge itself or the printer.

Check for Obstructions: Inspect the cartridge access area for any obstructions that may be preventing the cartridges from making proper contact with the printer. Remove any debris or foreign objects that you find.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
