HP 5255 - black and white photos print with color tint

HP Recommended
HP 5255
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When printing black and white photos the photos print with a slight magenta tone to them.  Color photos appear okay.  Is there a particular set-up I need when printing black and white phtoos

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Meanwhile:-

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

  1. Load the printer with plain white paper.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

  3. Touch Tools.

  4. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If the issue persists in the quality report, Clean the ink cartridges

  1. Load the printer with plain white paper.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.

  4. Examine the print quality on the Print Quality Diagnostic report.

  5. If the print quality is acceptable, touch No. You can stop troubleshooting.

  6. If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.

I hope that helps.
