Hi, I have experienced the well known problem of my printer not printing black ink. Having followed all the documented head cleaning routines, I have now replaced the print head and cartridges; undertaken a normal factory reset (unplugging power cord etc) but the printer is still not printing black at all. I understand from the archived thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/HP-Photosmart-5515-Not-Printing-Black/td-p/... that there is an advanced factory reset procedure which might help but this is only available by private message. Please could someone send me the details and advise anything else that I could try.

@MikeGBR, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This is a hardware issue with the printer. The advanced reset will not help. However, I have sent you a private message with a set of instructions to perform a reset. Kindly check the same, this might help you to resolve this issue. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you Kumar. I shall try the reset but think that you are probably right in thinking that I will have to buy a new printer.
