So I need HP INK 902 Color. It seems everywhere is out I have found some on eBay some genuine HP 902 but they have the price jacked up higher go figure. 

My question is, is it safe to use a non genuine cartridge? I have been told that it could mess the printer up is that true? Also the Printer has always showed a message Genuine HP Cartridge Installed. Just need a color cartridge real bad. This printer is about 5 years old but it does still work and it cost over $100.00 so I cannot just go buy a Printer anyway no need to just chunk this printer in a landfill if it's still working. Here is a link on eBay HP 902 . I will buy that if other people think it is safe to do so. Also another option OfficeMax used to refill cartridges is that safe and Guaranteed not to harm my printer?

Why don't someone from HP reply? This forum software is the same as Dell's forum. Dell Forum has a bot that will help also Dell employee's help . Why don't HP have their people help? Another question will This one harm my printer? It shows that it has some updated chip that will work with the HP model. I GOT to have a Ink Cartridge why is the world is there such a mess with HP Cartridges? Why in the world has this been a screwed up year?

Here I thought it was just me having trouble finding this ink! I finally found some at Target and got 2 packs the multi one. However, the printer is now telling me the cyan is not the right cartridge. THEY ALL CAME FROM THE SAME GENUINE HP PACK! I've spent over an hour on their webpage and trying to find a solution. My printer isn't that old, but it is out of warranty. But does that mean I can't replace the ink?! Do I have to buy an entirely new printer now?! This is infuriating!

That means it is one of the cartridges that was recalled. It seems there is either a firmware glitch on your printer or there are problems with the cartridge. Someone may have returned it to Target after finding out there was a recall. And some numbskull at Target put it back on the shelf. It did not get sorted at Target in the recall bin.

I understood there is a chip in the cartridge that detects the printer and the printer detects the chip.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Yes, there is an issue with the new lot of HP 902 Cyan and Yellow ink cartridges. If the Cartridge was manufactured in Malaysia and the Warranty End Date is between April 1st, 2022 and September 18th, 2022, please do not use this ink cartridge.

 

Reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options for the ink cartridge. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

I am sorry I have not came back to reply. I had no choice but to buy 3rd party Ink. I needed INK does HP understand that?

I have a HP Office Jet 6960 uses HP 902. I never knew anything about a recall. All I know is I cannot find any in stores I usually buy the cartridge from only on eBay and some people are jacking the prices up one 902 cartridge is $99.00 and that was not even the XL.

 

I had to buy from a place called Fast Ink. The cartridges work but are not HP cartridges but they do work. HP you need to get your ducks in a row the people that manufacture your ink are a bunch of Quacks. My printer this was going on before I used 3rd party cartridges. The colors do not print exact. I never knew anything about a recall and the last 2 cartridges the color has been a little off. Some of the colors don't even print. 

Red is a pink color

Navy is a brown color.

 

I do not know what is wrong but it wasn't the 3rd party ink. The cartridges I bought before this messed up my expensive Printer. 

What are my options with the Printer being out of Warranty? When will HP get their ducks in a row and get the INK back in stock?
