HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a couple of unused genuine HP cartiges( in wich I bought to my pervious printer).

Since they have a different HP Nr 950/951 XL series( different chip).

Since I've also have an printerhead ( that fits for 950 series cartiges).

So what I wonder if it's possibel to use them in my new printer? ( 9022e OfficeJet Pro).

Hi @Tompa25,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e printer uses different cartridges compared to the HP 950/951 XL series. Specifically, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e is designed to work with HP 962 or HP 962XL series cartridges. Therefore, using HP 950/951 XL series cartridges in your HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e printer is not supported and likely will not work due to incompatibility issues, such as the different chip and ink formulations.

Cartridge Compatibility

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e: Uses HP 962 or HP 962XL series cartridges.
  • HP 950/951 XL series: Compatible with older HP OfficeJet Pro models like HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer Series.

Key Points

  • Different Chip: The chips within the cartridges are specific to the printer models they support, ensuring proper communication between the printer and the cartridge.
  • Printhead Compatibility: While the printhead may physically fit, the ink formulation and cartridge recognition will prevent the 950/951 XL series cartridges from working in the 9022e printer.

I hope this helps.
