Hi,
When I insert brand new black colour cartridge on my HP Deskjet 3545 printer the printer screen shows error message "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer".
I tried following troubleshooting tips mentioned in this forum:
1. Reset - Unplugged the power chord from back of the printer while the printer is on and after 10 min switched ON
2. Cartridge cleaning - both cartridge and print head copper colour chips are cleaned and reinstalled cartridges.
But still getting the same issue even after repeating the above steps several times. Please your advice would be

Hi @Mundhir123,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps to address the issue with your HP Deskjet 3545 printer. If you're still encountering the error message after performing those steps, here are a few additional suggestions you can try.
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the black cartridge you're trying to use is compatible with your HP Deskjet 3545 printer. Sometimes, using a cartridge that is not specifically designed for your printer model can result in compatibility issues.
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with newer cartridges. You can usually find instructions on how to update your printer's firmware on the HP support website.
- Inspect Cartridge Contacts: Check the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer for any dirt, debris, or damage. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water if necessary. Make sure they are completely dry before reinserting the cartridge.
- Try a Different Cartridge: If possible, try using a different black cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the cartridge itself or with the printer.
By following these suggestions, you should hopefully be able to resolve the error message and get your printer working properly again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
