I changed my 2 cartridges yesterday and inserted again original cartridges from HP. But now, my printer does not recognize my cartridges any more, it shows cartridges empty and the orange light blinks.
Any suggestions please? I switched off the power already as well as waiting for 5 min. etc. but nothing helps.
Thank you in advance for a tip.
Regards, Alex

@AlexJK1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP DeskJet 3785 Cartridge Recognition Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP DeskJet 3785 printer is not recognizing new cartridges and indicates they are empty, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
- Turn the printer on.
- Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Inspect them for any protective tape covering the ink nozzles and electrical contacts. If there is any, carefully remove it.
- Reinsert the cartridges into their slots until they snap into place.
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that you are using the correct HP cartridge numbers for your printer model. Check the cartridge labels against the compatible cartridge list for your printer.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Carefully remove the cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the carriage inside the printer.
- Reinsert the cartridges, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer on.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord from the printer and the electrical outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the electrical outlet.
- Turn the printer back on.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
