Printer sounds like it is printing and paper ejects properly but nothing actually prints. Only streaks on the backside of what should have been a photo. This worked fine in the past.

@judihutch, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Envy 5660!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP Envy 5660 is experiencing a printing issue, possibly related to ink delivery or printhead functionality. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:
Check Ink Levels
- On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup → Ink Levels to check if you have enough ink.
- If ink is low, replace the cartridges.
Run a Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
- Print a test page after the cleaning.
- If the issue persists, run another printhead cleaning (up to three times if needed).
Ensure You Are Using Genuine HP Ink
- If you’re using third-party or refilled ink cartridges, they might be causing the issue.
- Try replacing them with genuine HP cartridges.
Check for Paper and Print Settings
- Paper Type: Make sure you’ve selected the correct 4x6 Photo Paper in the print settings.
- Print Quality: Set it to Best.
- Color Settings: Ensure that color printing is enabled and grayscale is turned off.
Reset the Printer
- Power Off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and restart the printer.
- Try printing again.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
