Hi @MS197967,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can help guide you through troubleshooting steps for the HP Envy 6000e cartridge issue you're facing.
I Understand you’ve already tried reinstalling and replacing cartridges, there are a few additional steps you could attempt:
1. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app, go to "Printer Maintenance," and see if there are any available updates.
- HP Website: Download and install any available firmware updates for the HP Envy 6000e from the HP support website.
2. Hard Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
3. Check Cartridge Installation
- Ensure that the cartridges are installed in the correct slots (black and tri-color in their respective places).
- Make sure no protective plastic is covering the cartridge nozzles.
- Re-seat the cartridges to ensure they click into place properly.
4. Inspect for Damage
- Check both the cartridge and the contacts inside the printer for any damage or debris.
- If there is any ink leakage or damage to the cartridge, it may need to be replaced (even if new).
5. Test with a Different Cartridge
If possible, test with another brand new genuine HP cartridge.
6. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults
- Go to the printer’s control panel and access Settings > Restore Defaults. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues with cartridge recognition.
7. Cartridge Error Override
HP printers have a built-in cartridge protection setting, which may be causing issues. Disable the protection feature from the printer's settings or in the HP Smart app, and see if that resolves the problem.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
