HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer printed just fine for several years, then last week it started printing blank pages. According to HP Smart, the ink levels are fine. I've cleaned the contacts and print heads on both the color and black cartridges to no avail. When I print the Printer Information page and Printer Status Report using the front panel, I get just a few images. When I clean the printheads using the software, I get just a few other images. I'm cancelling my Insant Ink subscription because I don't want to pay for something that is not working.

Hi @DMT1947,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue with your HP Envy 6055 printer. Since you've already cleaned the contacts and print heads, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check Ink Cartridge Installation:

  • Make sure the cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinstall them to ensure a secure fit.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • This tool can help diagnose and resolve issues with printing and scanning.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates in the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Try a Different Print Quality Setting:

  • In the printer settings, try changing the print quality from “Normal” to “Draft” or “Best” to see if that makes a difference.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • If you’re using third-party or refilled cartridges, consider switching back to genuine HP cartridges, as they are more reliable.

Run the Cleaning Cycle Again:

  • If you haven’t already, try running the print head cleaning cycle multiple times, as sometimes it may take a few attempts to clear any clogs.

Since you're canceling your Instant Ink subscription, make sure to follow the proper cancellation process on the HP website or through the HP Smart app to avoid any further charges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Alden4...

I had tried most of your suggestions before you replied to my original message. I did run the HP Print and Scan Doctor per your suggestion, but it did not help as my printer continued to print very little.

What finally worked for me was to immerse each printhead into hot water for 30 seconds or so, slide them across a clean tissue to verify the ink was flowing, and then dry the cartridges off. That worked, so my printer is now working again.

I'm trying to decide if I should re-enroll in the Instant Ink program.
