Hi @Sandra200,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6400e prints test pages fine but produces blank pages otherwise, here are a few things to check.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
- Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure good contact.
- If the cartridges are old or dried out, replace them with new ones.
Printer Settings:
- Check the print settings in the printer driver. Ensure you’re not set to print in “Draft” mode or with “Print in Grayscale” (unless you specifically need grayscale).
Paper Type and Quality:
- Ensure you’re using the right type of paper for your print job. Sometimes using the wrong paper type can cause issues.
Software and Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers and software installed. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues.
Cleaning Print Heads:
- Perform a print head cleaning using the printer's maintenance options. This can often resolve issues with blank pages.
Print Queue and Settings:
- Check the print queue on your computer for any stuck jobs or errors.
- Make sure you’re not accidentally printing in a format or from an application that doesn’t properly communicate with the printer.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes updates can fix bugs or improve functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
