Hi @lorax731,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing multiple issues with your HP Envy 7855 printer, including poor print quality and problems with the HP support database and print diagnostics tools. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help troubleshoot and resolve these issues:

**1. Check and Clean Printer Heads

  • From the Printer: On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printheads.
  • From the HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device, select your printer, go to Print & Scan, and choose Printer Maintenance.
  • After cleaning, print a test page to see if the quality improves.

**2. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are properly seated.
  • From the Printer: Go to Setup > Ink Levels to check the ink levels.
  • HP Smart App: Open the app and check the ink levels under Print & Scan > Ink Levels.
  • If the color cartridge is missing, replace it with a new, genuine HP color ink cartridge. Even if you are printing in black and white, a missing color cartridge can sometimes affect print quality.

**3. Check Print Settings:

  • From the Printer: Go to Setup > Print Quality and select a higher quality setting.
  • From Your Computer:
    • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. Ensure that the print quality is set to Best.
    • macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Select your printer > Options & Supplies > Driver tab, and ensure the print quality is set to Best.

**4. Update or Reinstall Drivers

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your HP Envy 7855.
  • Uninstall Existing Drivers: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select Remove Device.
  • Install New Drivers: Restart your computer, then download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

**5. Perform Printer Reset:

  • From the Printer: Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults or Reset.
  • Note: This will reset all printer settings to factory defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
