ENVY 4527
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I was recently given an old HP ENVY 4527 printer. The previous owner used HP instant ink, but I do not. I keep getting messages about Instant Ink on the printer (e.g. "Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status", or telling me that the printer is enrolled in instant ink when I change cartridges). I cannot contact the previous owner, is there a way I can unenroll the printer myself?

Welcome to HP Support Community!

Let's remove web services and add it back:

1. From the printer control panel display, touch ( ePrint ), and then touch (Web Services Settings). 2. Touch Remove Web Services. 3. Touch Yes to confirm.

To set up Web Services using the printer control panel 1. From the printer control panel display, touch HP Printables. 2. Touch Enable Web Services.

3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services. 4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.

NOTE: If a printer update is available, the printer downloads and installs the update, and then restarts. You have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up Web Services.

NOTE: If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the on-screen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the network.

5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.

After pressing the ePrint button, there is no option for Web Services Settings. The screen reads: "HP ePrint. Easily print emails and attachment by sending an email to your printer's unique email address" and the only button available says "Set Up". Pressing this leads to an option to Accept or Decline the HP Connected Terms of Use, but accepting results in an error message reading, "Server Problem. The printer could not connect to Web Services. The server might be busy or temporarily unavailable. Try again later." This error message appeared when I tried this a couple of days ago too. The printer connected to my Wi-Fi no problem, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Assign manual IP to the printer-

The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers
