I am trying to find someone who would service  (specifically clean) an HP Laserjet 4300.   Staples (at least North Andover MA) tells me they don't service printers as they consider them disposable. I find this hard to believe. If I bought a Laserjet from them and it required repair, would they just give me a new one?  Best Buy might be an option but they charge an $85 non refundable diagnostic fee.  Am just looking to have it cleaned. Most returns on google search indicate companies that will only service commercial accounts.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Live in Andover, MA.  Tried going thru HP support website but it insisted on a product serial number and did not recognize mine.  I presume because of its age.  Reluctant to get rid of the printer as print quality is still fine, just some smudging and lines on pages. I also subscribe to the theory that nothing made today is of the quality of older stuff.  Told the guy at Staples this Laserjet is 22 years old and asked what products they currently sell might be expected to last as long.

Thanks for reply. Situation resolved. For information of others, found a great service facility, Cartridge World in Hudson NH.  Tech came out, partially disassembled printer,  replaced a couple rollers, told me the printer was not in need of cleaning (could easily have kept it and charged for a cleaning).  Told me the issue was  with the toner cartridge, did not have one in stock but told me he would recommend buying online as I could get a better price than he could offer.  Carried the printer to and from car (I am 71 and nursing a hernia).   Charged $20 for his time and the rollers.

Best Buy wanted a non refundable $85 diagnostic fee.  Staples advised they don't service printers as they consider them "disposable".  Am guessing Best Buy would have cleaned the printer at whatever fee, not sure if the $85 would have covered it or not. When they say printers are "disposable", guess they are referring to what HP is manufacturing now.  My Laserjet 4300 was manufactured in December, 2002.  I apparently print very little as the toner cartridge in my machine was installed in 2011. But nice to know there are still honest people in the service business. If I have the opportunity to give these guys additional business, I will. And won't be buying a printer from Staples. Thanks for your reply.

Do you have a dirty print you want to clean or what kind of cleaning are you referring to.

HP LaserJet 4300 is very user friendly device that can be very easily cleaned and repaired if needed.
