HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One Printer

My printer ink was printing just fine using black ink.  Then it started skipping words on the page and now won't print anything.  The cartridge is new, I have done an alignment and clean the head, did a hard set and nothing has helped.

@Mubz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP OfficeJet Pro!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e is experiencing a print quality issue despite having a new cartridge. Since you’ve already done an alignment, printhead cleaning, and a hard reset, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Even though the cartridge is new, verify the ink levels on the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app to ensure it is recognized correctly.

2. Manually Clean the Printhead

  • If the automatic cleaning didn’t work, try manually cleaning the printhead.
  • Remove the cartridges and gently clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
  • Let it dry before reinstalling.

3. Check for Clogged Nozzles

  • Print a nozzle check pattern from the printer’s maintenance menu.
  • If gaps appear, try another deep cleaning cycle.

4. Use Genuine HP Ink

  • Ensure you are using HP-branded ink cartridges, as third-party inks may not work correctly.

5. Reinstall the Cartridges

  • Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to HP Support and check for any firmware updates for your printer model.

Let me know how it goes!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
