I need some help. I just installed new 3rd party ink cartridges and now my venerable 6978 Officejet is a brick. I've been buying HP printers for years and have never had an issue with new 3rd party replacement ink. I've searched the forums and see others have had an issue with the firmware. So I've tried all the fixes suggested on this site; I updated the firmware to version 2409A, I've performed multiple printhead maintenances, reseated the cartridges dozens of times, all with ZERO LUCK. How do I get this unit to print again?
