@printzzzz, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check for Blocked Ink Nozzles
The streaky magenta could indicate a clog or drying out of the printhead nozzles. You can try cleaning the printhead manually or using the printer's built-in cleaning function.
To clean the printhead:
From the printer's control panel, go to the settings.
Find the "Tools" or "Maintenance" menu, and select "Clean Printhead".
Follow the instructions to clean the printhead.
After the cleaning cycle, print a test page to see if the streaking has improved.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
Try a Deep Clean
If a simple cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, you might need to perform a deep cleaning of the printhead. This may involve a longer cleaning process that can be done via the printer’s software, or in some cases, it might require manual cleaning of the printhead (carefully using water and a soft cloth).
Be cautious not to use too much force when cleaning to avoid damaging the printhead.
Check for Air Bubbles or Leaks
Air bubbles or ink leakage could cause cartridges not to be detected properly or lead to inconsistent printing. You may want to gently remove and re-insert the cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly and try printing again.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
