HP Officejet 7740 Printing Grayscale

HP Officejet pro 7740 is not printing in color anymore. On the test page, the color levels are printed but in grey scale. When I make a color copy, everything is printed but in grey scale. The ink cartridges are the original from HP and are full. What can I do to fix this problem?

I have replaced with brand new HP original cartridges, carried out a reset, but it is still printing all test pages in grayscale..

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet 7740 Printing Grayscale Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Let's perform a power drain: 

• With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
• Remove USB cable, if present.
• Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
• Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
• Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware

The printer is still stuck in B&W or grayscale.

I have replaced the print cartridges with HP original cartridges, updated to latest firmware and carried out a factory default reset.

Still not printing any colour. I have tried to print a status report, which prints in black and white.
