HP Officejet Printer X476dw error code: 0x610000d3

my hp officejet pro printer X476dw has an error code: 0x610000d3

which amounts to the ink cartridges being stuck and not coming up to the drawer opening.

Is this printer trash now? Is it worth taking to a repair shop. The minimum charge is $35.00.

Is there a way to remove the expensive ink cartridges (that are not low on ink)?

This error is associated with either a lift motor error or bad clutch. Some of the earlier models of Pagewide like the X476 did not have a retainer on the worm gear on the lift motor and the gear could come off over time. This is not an expensive part and it does not take that long to replace. The challenge comes if it is the clutch and not the gear. On most older models the clutch is integrated unit that is non-replaceable. You would need to open the back of the unit and look at the worm gear on the lift

motor to see if it has the retainer. Look for the white cage that surrounds the worm gear. If there is no cage, then it is quite likely the motor that is at fault.

Can you tell me if parts can still be purchased for this printer?
