Hey @MCKEburg,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart the Printer and Check Connections

  • Turn off the printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet. Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Check the connections: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network, if applicable.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges: Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door. Carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check for obstructions or damage: Make sure there are no obstructions in the ink cartridge slots. Check the ink cartridges for any signs of damage or leaks.
  • Reinsert the cartridges: Reinstall the ink cartridges, ensuring they’re seated correctly in their respective slots.

Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the print head with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water. Be careful not to touch the nozzles or the electrical contacts directly with your fingers.
  • Dry everything completely before reinserting the cartridges.

Reset the Printer

  • Sometimes performing a full reset can help clear error messages.
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Unplug the printer from the power source.
    3. Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and power it on.
    4. Check if the error message is gone.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware can sometimes trigger errors. You can check for updates from the printer’s control panel or by visiting the HP website.
    • From the printer’s control panel: Go to the Setup or Tools menu, then select Printer Maintenance and choose Update the Printer Firmware.
    • From your computer: Visit the HP support website, search for your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • HP provides a free utility called the HP Print and Scan Doctor that can diagnose and resolve many printer issues.
  • Download and install it from HP’s official website, then run the tool to check for any problems with your printer.

Replace Ink Cartridges

  • If the error message persists after troubleshooting, it’s possible that one or more ink cartridges may be faulty or empty.
  • Replace the ink cartridges with new, genuine HP ink cartridges.

Check for Printer Hardware Issues

  • If you continue seeing the error, there might be an issue with the printer's hardware, such as the print head or a malfunctioning component inside the printer.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
