Product: HP Photo Paper 9RR56A

OS: Windows 10/Linux

Printer: HP OfficeJet 9010

Hi everyone,

I have been printing photos  for quite a while now with HP printers and have been getting good, high-quality results using HP Advanced, Brother, Epson and Canon papers, however, just recently, I decided to purchase the HP Photo Paper 9RR56A as I assumed that the paper would go well with the HP printer, and that I have been getting really good results with my HP 4x6-inch papers, but then noticed that the printouts are truly sub-standard. I tried different settings up to the point that I even forcibly downgraded the settings to force the printer to put out less ink but the paper just can't hold the shadows properly. There are blots even with Draft Mode!

I am deeply unsatisfied with the printouts. I believe that they shouldn't be called Photo Papers, at all, but rather Glossy/Project Papers. My printouts with the HP OfficeJet 9010 has been rather sublime with other papers but got completely gobsmacked by the printouts from the 9RR56A.

Is there anything that can be done to improve this or anything that can be done with this issue? Am I missing something?

Regards,

Thanks for your reply. I tried the parameters in the link but to no avail. The prints are still blotchy as if the printer puts in too much ink or the paper cannot dry-out the ink on time.

To add, it seems like this one works a bit better on a non-HP printer, so there is a chance that it's the paper/printer profile which has an issue.

Also, we discovered 2 bugs in between 3 sheets of paper when printing photos. We were able to remove the bugs but, somehow, HP printed on the bugs themselves.
