Photosmart printer only printing light grey. Yes, all new hp cartridges, vented, and even a new print head, done print quality yes and all has tested fine. But when I send a document it only prints a very light grey. I've tried everything I could find in support. Really hoping someone has a solution. We just opened up a nonprofit outdoor dance studio and I had this printer in storage and it use to work great. We are operating from an HP chromebook. Not sure why its only printing grey. Everything else seems okay so I'm stumped.

Thank you!

@BalanceDance

I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is printing only grey.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you facing the same issue when you make a copy?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Remove USB cable, if present.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the steps in the below article.
