No error messages. Troubleshooting printer reveals no errors. The printer reacts to printing, but the page comes out entirely black, even with a new HP cartridge. Is this problem recognized and if so, is it worth the cost and effort to have it sent off and repaired?

This happened on my HP Laserjet P1102W, but I think it could happen on many different printers. I found an answer to my problem as described in the original post. There are several video's on youtube regarding this problem. It is hard to believe that such as simple fix as this makes such a problem as a completely black page printout, but this fix works. View the videos, and check your printer. Just make sure that the two wires (one upper, one lower) on the left side of the cartridge-well are fully extended when you insert the printer cartridge. Unfortunately, sometimes these wires get caught behind their supports and fail to make contact with the cartridge. Apparently, these wires have something to do with forming the print characters on the page, thus no black page printout.
