HP ENVY Inspire 7924e All-in-One Printer

I have a HP smart subscription and am unhappy with the costs of printing when it goes over the subscription quota. I tried stopping my hp smart subscription, but when I did this and ordered cartridges from amazon, it didn't let me print out.  Is there a solution to this - just want to by cartridges when I need them and print out as many copies as i need!!
