HP Smart Tank 7301 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I have this HP Smart Tank that has all inks almost full. This printer is out of warranty now but barely used. It has suddenly stopped printing pink color. Printer tests and diagnostics report no issues. Printing test result prints all color but pink. Wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and found a resolution to it? It is one of the worst printers I ever had from HP. Next time I am going to try a different brand.

Thanks,

Hi @shinningstart,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to have your HP Smart Tank 7300 not printing pink despite all diagnostics showing no problems. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Ink Levels and Printhead:

  • Ensure that the pink ink cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink.
  • Run a printhead cleaning cycle through the printer's settings. Sometimes, ink residue or dried ink can block the printhead nozzles.

Manual Printhead Cleaning:

  • If the cleaning cycle doesn't resolve the issue, you might need to manually clean the printhead. This involves using distilled water and lint-free cloth to gently clean the printhead nozzles. Be careful not to touch the electrical contacts or nozzles with your fingers.

Verify Printer Settings:

  • Check the printer settings to ensure that color printing is enabled and set correctly.
  • Sometimes, printer drivers or software updates can affect color printing settings, so ensure your printer software is up to date.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Update your printer's firmware if there's a newer version available. Firmware updates can sometimes address printing issues.

Test with Another Device:

  • Try printing a color document from a different device to rule out any issues with your computer or software settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
