I understand the HP Smart Tank 7301 All-in-One printer, ink bottles are designed to be used without leaks. When you lift the bottle up, the flow of ink should stop automatically due to the bottle's built-in sealing mechanism. You shouldn't have to worry about the remaining ink leaking out. However, it’s always a good idea to handle the bottles carefully and avoid tilting them excessively to minimize any potential mess. If you’re concerned about spills, you might want to place a cloth or paper towel underneath while you’re removing or replacing the bottle.
