Hi @MarianneMcG,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, which is a good start. Since cleaning the printheads didn't resolve the issue, there could be a few other things causing the problem.
- Check Ink Levels: Even though the cartridges show as half full, it's possible that there's an issue with the ink delivery. Try removing the cartridges, checking for any blockages or dried ink, and reinsert them securely.
- Alignment: Sometimes, printers need to be aligned properly to print correctly. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to align the printheads or perform an alignment test from the printer's settings menu.
- Update Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that your printer drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause printing issues. You can usually find the latest drivers and firmware on the HP website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Try Different Paper: Sometimes, the type or quality of paper can affect printing. Try using a different type of paper to see if that makes a difference.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and your computer can resolve connectivity or communication issues.
- Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or codes on the printer's display panel or on your computer. These can provide clues as to what might be causing the issue.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
