Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP envy 4511 printer, if I send something to it from my PC it will only print it in black and white, if I print from cell phone it'll be in color, or if I copy it'll print in color. I've toggled the black and white/color on PC but it'll still only print in black and white from PC.

I understand you are trying to troubleshoot the issue of your HP ENVY 4511 All-in-One Printer only printing in black and white from your PC while it prints in color from your cell phone or when copying, follow these steps:

 

Check Printer Preferences:

  • Open the Control Panel on your PC.
  • Navigate to "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 4511 printer and select "Printing preferences."
  • Ensure that the "Print in grayscale" option is not selected. If it is, deselect it to allow color printing.

Update Printer Drivers:  Software and Drivers for HP ENVY 4511 All-in-One Printer

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model (HP ENVY 4511) and download the latest drivers for your Windows 10 (32-bit) operating system.
  • Install the updated drivers and restart your PC.

Check Application Settings:

  • When you print from an application (like Word, PDF reader, etc.), open the print dialog box.
  • Click on "Properties" or "Preferences."
  • Ensure that the color option is selected, and the "Print in grayscale" option is not checked.

Check Printer Software:

  • Open the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant (depending on which one you have installed).
  • Check the printer settings within the software to ensure color printing is enabled.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support website.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any potential issues.

Try a Different USB Port or Cable:

  • If you are using a USB connection, try using a different USB port or cable to rule out any connection issues.

Test Print from Another PC:

  • If possible, try printing from another PC to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to your PC.
