Hi @poppadon,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you’re getting a cartridge error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6830, even with new cartridges, try these steps:

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure each cartridge is installed correctly. They should click into place firmly.
  • Inspect Cartridges and Slots: Look for any packaging tape or protective strips on the cartridges that might not have been removed. Also, check the cartridge slots for any obstructions or dirt.
  • Clean Contacts: Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the cartridges and clean the metal contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth. Be careful not to touch the nozzles.
  • Reset the Printer: With the printer turned off and unplugged, wait about a minute. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear error messages.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or by visiting HP’s support website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Check for Printer Errors: Look for any other error messages or blinking lights on the printer that might provide additional clues.
  • Try One Cartridge at a Time: Install just one cartridge at a time to see if one particular cartridge is causing the issue.
  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you’re using are compatible with your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
