HP office jet pro 8035 will not recognize full hp color ink cartridges. Just installed today.

What is the problem? I reset the thing to factory default and restarted everything and it still says M, C and Y are low even though I just installed them today and have not printed anything in color

Hi @DMBA1750,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 not recognizing newly installed ink cartridges. Here are some steps and checks you can perform to potentially resolve this issue:

Ensure Genuine Cartridges: Confirm that the cartridges are genuine HP cartridges. Non-genuine cartridges may not be recognized properly by HP printers.

Check for Protective Tape: Double-check that all the protective tape or plastic from the ink cartridge contacts has been completely removed. Residual tape or packaging can prevent the printer from detecting the cartridges.

Clean the Contacts: Sometimes, dirt or residue on the cartridge contacts or the contacts inside the printer can cause detection issues. Use a clean, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently wipe the contacts on the cartridge and the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge sits.

Reinsert the Cartridges: Remove the cartridges and reinsert them, ensuring they are securely and properly installed in their respective slots. Make sure each cartridge clicks into place.

Update the Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. An outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues with cartridges. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or from the HP website.

Reset the Printer: Although you've done a factory reset, performing a hard reset might also help. To do this, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about a minute. Then, reconnect and turn it on to see if the issue persists.

Check Cartridge Warranty: If the above steps don't work, there might be an issue with the cartridges themselves. Since they are new, they should be covered by a warranty. Consider contacting HP support or the retailer for a replacement under warranty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
