Hi @Akashihanshi,
Thank you for your reply
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 is not printing in color while using a MacBook Air, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Settings
- On Your MacBook Air:
- Go to System Settings (or System Preferences) > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 from the list.
- Click Options & Supplies > Options and ensure that "Color" or "Color Printing" is enabled.
- During Printing:
- When you print a document, click Show Details in the print dialog.
- Ensure the "Color" option is selected under Presets or in the print settings.
- Avoid selecting "Grayscale" or "Black & White."
2. Check Ink Levels
- Open the HP Smart app or access the printer’s control panel to verify that the color ink cartridges are not empty or low.
3. Clean Printhead
- From the printer control panel or the HP Smart app, navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools and run the Clean Printhead option. This helps if the printhead is clogged.
4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Update Drivers:
- Download the latest drivers and software for macOS from the HP Support website.
- Install and follow the instructions.
- Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from your Mac by going to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Re-add the printer by clicking the "+" button and selecting your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028
5. Reset Printing System (Optional)
- If the issue persists, reset the printing system:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and choose Reset Printing System.
- Re-add the printer and try printing again.
6. Check Application-Specific Settings
- Some applications (like Word, Photoshop, etc.) may override printer settings. Ensure that "Color" is selected in the application's print settings.
7. Test with Another Document
- Print a test page directly from the printer or the HP Smart app to see if the issue is specific to certain files.
8. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet 6900, 8010, 8020, 8030 printers - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issue...
