HP sent me email saying I need to replace my instant ink cartridges. Printer shows my ink level is practically full. Should I replace anyway?

Hi @Maryhn5

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s a little confusing!

Here’s what might be happening: HP Instant Ink cartridges are monitored for both ink usage and time since activation.

Even if there’s plenty of ink left, HP sometimes requires replacement to ensure print quality or because the cartridges have been in use for an extended period.

Here’s what I’d suggest:

Double-check the Printer Message: Does your printer itself say you need to replace the cartridges, or is this just in the email? If the printer isn't flagging a replacement, you might be fine to continue using the current cartridges.

Look for Cartridge Expiry: Some Instant Ink cartridges have a built-in expiry to prevent usage beyond a certain timeframe.

If your prints look fine and the printer doesn’t seem concerned, you might not need to replace them immediately.

Let me know how it goes!
