My HP6001 won't print all the colors. Ink levels are good. Customer service suggested replacing print heads. Did that, now it's worse than it was. Only printing black and magenta with some black on it. I've tried cleaning the heads, print alignment etc. It's out of warranty so customer service can't help anymore. It's just barely out of warranty. So not that old. 😞

Hi @Katt15
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’ve tried a lot of the standard troubleshooting steps and have even replaced the print heads, but your HP 6001 is still having trouble printing all colors. I can imagine how frustrating that must be, especially since it's just out of warranty.
Let’s go through some additional troubleshooting steps to help get your printer working properly again.
1. Check the Ink Cartridges
Even though the ink levels are good, there might be an issue with the cartridges themselves:
- Remove the cartridges and carefully inspect the nozzles for any visible blockages or damage.
- Ensure that the cartridges are seated properly and that they are the correct model for your printer.
- Clean the contacts (gently) on both the ink cartridges and the printer's contact points using a lint-free cloth. Be cautious not to get the cloth too wet—use a little water or rubbing alcohol if needed.
- Try a different set of ink cartridges if you have spare ones. Sometimes even genuine HP cartridges can have defects.
2. Deep Cleaning the Printhead
Even though you've already cleaned the printheads, you may want to try the deep cleaning process to clear any stubborn clogs:
- Access the HP Printer Assistant on your computer (or use the printer’s control panel) and find the Deep Cleaning option.
- Run the Deep Cleaning utility a couple of times to see if it helps restore color printing.
3. Check for Printhead Alignment
- Go to the Printer Settings and perform the alignment again.
- Sometimes an improper alignment can cause partial printing or missing colors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
