Hi @Fred9305,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Turn Off the Printer: Ensure the printer is turned off and unplugged from the power source to avoid any accidents.

Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Carefully open the access door where the ink cartridges are located. This is usually located at the front of the printer.

Identify the Latch and Slot: Locate the slot or hinge where the latch originally fits. It should be aligned with where the ink cartridge is installed.

Align the Latch: Take the latch and align it with the slot or hinge. Ensure the orientation is correct – usually, the latch will have a specific shape that matches the slot.

Reinstall the Latch: Gently press the latch back into place. It should click or snap into place without much force. Do not force the latch, as this can cause damage.

Secure the Ink Cartridge: Once the latch is reinstalled, place the ink cartridge back into position. Ensure it is seated properly so that the latch can close over it.

Test the Installation: Close the ink cartridge access door and power on the printer. Run a test page or print a document to ensure the cartridges are functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.
