HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I put new HP cartridges in the printer and after 1 test sheet it says the Y is depleted. After trying a few internet fixes I caved and bought another new Y cartridge. Now it is saying the C is depleted! I have spent over $200 on ink and I am dead in the water..

How can I fix this.

Hi @D_D5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your new cartridge for the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-In-One Printer is showing as depleted, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Restart the Printer: Sometimes, restarting the printer can resolve communication issues with the cartridge.

Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridge is properly installed and securely seated in its slot. Sometimes, an improperly seated cartridge can cause detection issues.

Update Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes address cartridge recognition issues. Click here for the firmware details.

Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer, remove the cartridge, and gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth to remove any dirt or residue that might interfere with the electrical connections.

Check Cartridge Status: Use the printer's control panel or software on your computer to check if the cartridge is correctly recognized and its ink levels are displayed accurately.

These steps should help you diagnose and potentially resolve the issue of your new cartridge being detected as depleted

If this does not help, I recommend contacting phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
