Hi @Grotonct,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A recurring "Printer Failure" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 can be frustrating. Here are some additional steps you can try.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if you don’t see one, paper jams can sometimes be hidden. Carefully inspect the paper path and remove any stuck paper.
- Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and that none are empty or damaged. Try removing and reseating them.
- Update Firmware: Visit the HP Support website and check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve persistent errors.
- Clean Printer Heads: Use the printer's built-in cleaning function to clean the print heads. This option is typically found in the printer’s settings menu.
- Inspect Connections: Ensure all cables (power, USB, network) are securely connected. If you're using a USB cable, try a different port or cable if possible.
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and power it on.
- Run Diagnostics: Use any built-in diagnostic tools that the printer might offer through its control panel or software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
