My HP Envy 5540 printer is going on 6 years of use so it might just be time, but it was working perfectly fine up until a couple months ago when it decided it no longer wanted to put ink to page. I've troubleshot to the best of my abilities, but even though my cartridges are less than a year old and half full, neither colour nor black ink actually goes onto the pages besides the occasional little stripe or some of those colour patches when you do the cartridge clean. So the problem is clearly not a particular cartridge and they're somehow still putting a selective amount of ink on paper.
I've tried cleaning the cartridges directly myself in case they were clogged and did the built in printer clean. I've restarted the printer and checked my firmware. I've used HP smart but it's not flagging any issues. I can't think of anything else I can do and neither can the support robot. And since my warranty is way past expired I can't get help from an actual HP human being. Please help 😞

I'd like to help!
Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.
This printer is obsolete and might need service or replacement.
As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers who should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
