The printer prints streaked pages, and shows the cartridges are full. Trying to clean the heads on an HP Envy 7900. I hit the System button, but nothing in the suggestions appears. It shows two printers, but nothing else to click to clean the heads. Please help. Thanks!

Hi @golfer1tx,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to clean the printheads on your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series printer, follow these steps using HP Smart or the printer control panel:
Method 1: Using HP Smart App (Windows 11)
- Open HP Smart on your computer.
- If you don't have it, download it from the Microsoft Store and install it.
- In HP Smart, select your printer from the list of devices.
- Click on Printer Maintenance or Advanced Settings (depending on your version).
- Look for Clean Printheads or a similar option under the maintenance or tools section.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to clean the printhead.
Method 2: Using the Printer Control Panel
- Turn on the printer and make sure it is connected to your computer or network.
- On the printer's control panel, swipe down to open the dashboard or press the System or Settings button.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Look for the Clean Printhead option and select it.
- The printer will begin the cleaning process, which may take a few minutes.
- Once the cleaning is finished, print a test page to check if the issue is resolved.
If you still can't find the option to clean the printhead, it's possible that the control panel's interface has a different layout. You could also try accessing the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer's IP address into your browser and navigating to the maintenance options there.
