Hi @Natiakhitarova,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Let's go through why your HP M139-M142 cartridge might be running out so fast and some basic troubleshooting steps to make it last longer:

Factors Affecting Cartridge Life:

Page Coverage: Full-page images or dense text deplete the cartridge faster. Manufacturers estimate yield based on 5% page coverage.

Toner/Ink Quality: Some cartridges may not be fully filled or they dry out if not used regularly.

Printing Mode: Draft mode uses less ink/toner, while high-quality mode consumes more.

Fake or Low-Yield Cartridge: Non-original HP cartridges may have a lower capacity.

Try these steps to improve cartridge life:

Check Cartridge Level: On the printer's display or HP Smart App, check the remaining toner level. If the level is not empty, remove and shake the cartridge gently to distribute the toner evenly.

Print in Draft Mode: On Windows, go to Print Settings > Preferences > Draft Mode or Toner Save Mode to reduce toner use for non-important prints.

Clean Printer Nozzles & Drum: If prints look faded or uneven, run a printer cleaning cycle in settings.

Use High-Yield Cartridges (XL Versions): Standard cartridges print fewer pages. Buy high-yield (XL) versions for more prints per refill.

Verify Genuine HP Cartridge: Check the HP Security Label on the box to ensure it’s an original cartridge. Fake ones run out quickly.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions. 😊
