Printer has been acting up a lot in recent months. Problems have been solved by running various cleaning and alignment functions. But now it is printing black horizontal curved lines all over the pages when printing or copying. What else can I do now -- other than buy a new printer?

Hi @SuzyB52,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 might be related to the printhead or the ink cartridges. Here are some steps you can try to address the problem:
- Check for Ink Cartridge Issues: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and that none of them are leaking or clogged. Sometimes, removing and reinstalling the cartridges can help.
- Perform a Printhead Cleaning: Although you mentioned running cleaning functions, it might be worth performing a deep or thorough printhead cleaning if available in your printer’s settings.
- Printhead Alignment: Perform a printhead alignment to make sure that the printheads are properly aligned.
- Check for Obstructions or Foreign Objects: Make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects inside the printer that could be causing the issue.
- Inspect the Rollers and Paper Path: Sometimes, dust or debris in the paper path or on the rollers can cause printing issues. Clean the rollers and paper path if necessary.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date, as sometimes updates can resolve printing issues.
- Replace the Printhead: If the problem persists, the printhead might be faulty. Consider replacing the printhead if possible.
