Hi @Boulderyo,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:
- Using non-HP or refilled cartridges could cause print quality issues. HP recommends using genuine HP cartridges for optimal performance. You can verify the authenticity of your cartridges via the HP anti-counterfeit webpage.
Clean the Printhead:
- The printhead might be clogged, which can result in horizontal lines. Ensure you clean the printhead using the automatic tool available on the printer control panel. Here's how you can clean the printhead:
- Load plain white paper into the tray.
- From the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
Print a Diagnostic Page:
- This page will help to specify which color is causing the problem.
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
Check for Blockages or Low Ink:
- Inspect the ink levels to ensure the magenta cartridge is not low or empty. If it is, replace it with a new cartridge.
- Check the cartridge for any physical obstructions or damage.
Align the Printhead:
- Misalignment can also result in horizontal lines. You can align the printhead through:
- Setup > Tools > Align Printhead on the printer control panel.
Manual Cleaning:
- If the problem persists, you might need to manually clean the contacts on the printhead and the cartridge. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water for cleaning.
I hope this helps.
