I was having problems with the print quality of my printer and ended up purchasing new CMYK XL Cartridges. After installing the new cartridges, I was still having the same issues.

I ended up purchasing a new print head that came with the setup cartridges. Considering that I used way too much ink from the new XL cartridges trying to clean the old print head as well as to make sure there were no other issues, I used the setup cartridges in the new print head and now everything is working great.

My question: How can I preserve my other XL cartridges that are ~3/4 full until the setup cartridges are depleted?

I may have just figured out the answer to my own question...

I placed the XL cartridges that I recently purchased back into the old print head and placed that back into the plastic container that the new print head came in.

the print head fits perfectly in the container with these cartridges in place. Makes me think that it what it is for, but it would be nice to have instructions to that effect if that is indeed the case.
