Hi @Terrie22 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand Turning off the HP Instant Ink service shouldn't prevent your printer from functioning. However, if you're experiencing issues after canceling the service,

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This will allow the printer to reset and may resolve any temporary issues.
  • Check Ink Levels: Make sure your printer has enough ink to print. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges with new ones or refill them if they are refillable.
  • Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or warning lights on the printer's control panel. These can provide clues about what might be causing the problem.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with printing. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, preventing new jobs from being processed. Clear the print queue by canceling all pending print jobs and then try printing again.
  • Check Printer Connection: Make sure that your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or network connection. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Reset Printer Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your printer to its factory settings. This will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer, so proceed with caution.

To assist better:

  • May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
