How do i fix the color on my HP Smart Tank Plus 651 printer. Colors are all blue gray

Try these steps:

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the ink levels are sufficient in the ink tanks. Low ink levels can cause color issues.
  • If ink levels are low, refill the ink tanks using the correct HP ink bottles.

Perform Printhead Cleaning:

  • On your printer’s control panel, navigate to the Maintenance menu.
  • Select Clean Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions. This action will help clear any clogged printhead nozzles.

Print Quality Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a test page to check for print quality. Navigate to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report on the printer’s control panel.
  • If the diagnostic report shows color issues, further actions might be needed.

Align Printheads:

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to the Maintenance menu.
  • Select Align Printhead and follow the steps to ensure the printheads are properly aligned.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer firmware installed. You can check for updates on the HP Support website.

Manually Clean Printheads:

  • Turn off the printer and open the ink access door.
  • Carefully remove the printheads and clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert the printheads and close the ink access door. Turn the printer back on.

Check Color Settings in HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Check the printer settings to ensure that color printing is selected and not grayscale or monochrome.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers. Sometimes, corrupted drivers can cause color printing issues.
  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
