Hi @themaytagman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Download the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. You can download it from HP's official website or your device's app store.

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Launch the app and select your printer to access its settings and management tools.

Access Print Quality Tools:

  • Click on Tools within the app.
  • Select Print Quality Tools, and then choose Clean Printhead.

Start Cleaning Process:

  • A cleaning process will initiate automatically. Your printer may make some noise during this process.
  • After cleaning, a test page will print out to verify the print quality.

Evaluate the Test Page:

  • Examine the print quality on the test page.
    • If the print quality is satisfactory, you’re done.
    • If not, you may need to repeat the cleaning process. The app may prompt you to perform a more thorough, second-level cleaning if necessary.

Wait Between Cleanings:

  • If the printhead is badly clogged, wait at least 30 minutes before attempting another cleaning cycle.

I hope this helps.
